Who says minivans aren't sexy?

We're in the process of picking out a new vehicle and ... believe it or not, I think we're leaning toward a minivan. Yep, again.

Yes, I hear you. Our youngest just flew the coop to college. It's time to move into something sexier. I know.

But, think about it. There is nothing sexier than a minivan. Every time we drive it, we'll think of why we needed one in the first place: Because we had kids. And how do you get kids?? Uh-huh.

And think further... look at all that room. Flip down those seats and what do you have? Plenty of space for luggage! Just think of all the romantic trips we'll be able to take.

We can probably get to our destinations faster too. If a big luggy minivan and a red sportscar are both doing five miles over the speed limit - who do you think will get pulled over, hmm? Speeding tickets are not sexy. Arriving early at our weekend getaway is.

Okay, yeah, I know I'm stretching things here. But the truth is, I like the room. I love being able to get in and out without looking like a twit. Without making sounds like "ugchk" when I hoist myself up.

Forgetting sexy and thinking "family" for a moment - When the girls invite friends to join us on a family jaunt - to the zoo, the museum, a play, whatever - with a minivan we don't have to go in two cars. Three girls, three friends, and us. Is that perfect or what?

What have we learned today? Minivans are sexy. Minivans foster family-together-time. Minivans mean more vacations. Minivans don't make me look stupid trying to hoist myself in and out.

What more could a person ask for?

Coming up... the final decision on make/model/etc. We're still working those details out.

What do you think is sexier? White? Gray? Pearly smoke?
And what do you think about heated side-view mirrors? Wow. I think I may swoon...

LOL and a big grin...we just traded in our old reliable mom van for a sporty, oh so cute Kia Soul!! The beauty of it is that it is and easy to get easy to get out of car...lots of room and a crazy color called Alien. How is it that now at the ripe old age of 57 I'm driving a cute car? "cause I can ;-) We bought our daughter a bright read VW bug as well...because life is short and fun cars are fun!!!
Enjoy your new ride, Julie...
BEST ;-)

Nanc - I saw that online today! Congrats! We haven't actually settled on one or another, but it's looking more and more like a big, sexy minivan the closer we get! LOL

Oh Jennie - :::blush::: But you made me laugh out loud!

Luke - Good thinking!!

Anything but Pearly Smoke, Julie. Here's why: The roads are dark gray. If you're driving a dark gray vehicle, you're going to blend in way too much and have a better chance of someone not seeing and hitting your sexy new minivan. I learned this the hard way, LOL.

How do you like that! I didn't know that, Shel. Our last two have been green and I'm ready for a change. Love red, but maybe white is the way to go? Still fits "sexy" like a white nightgown, right? LOL

what's the difference between gray and pearly smoke? They sound the same to me.

LOL Dru - the gray is "hearse color" according to my husband. The Pearly Smoke (I may be remembering it incorrectly) seems to have a touch of mauve.

I would love to have heated side mirrors. Mine are currently covered by about 1/4 inch of ice.

I hear you, Bethany. Right now our side mirrors (and cars) are stuck inside the garage. The streets haven't been plowed and it doesn't look as though they will be anytime soon. Huge drifts. I may post pictures...
